The Wrens Nest is situated in an idyllic, peaceful and magical location in Cumbria, with easy access to the Lake District, where wildlife abounds and the sound of birdsong fills the air... The perfect stay with your pooch in tow.

The wooden cladded exterior and raised rustic balcony lead you into an interior which is delightfully charming, with unusual touches and a cosy atmosphere, just the place to set the scene for a romantic stay. Large windows frame the beautiful views over the wooded field and large pond, they let the sunshine flood in. You will find a compact kitchen housing a gas two ring hob, microwave, undercounter fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle and coffee machine - everything you need to whip up a memorable meal using local ingredients. Enjoy your creations at the dining-table by the cosy warmth of the log-effect electric fire or eat al fresco and take time to spot the local wildlife.

There is a comfy double bed facing the view and framed by intriguing wooden cladding and unusual and quirky wall lighting. A great place to snuggle down and take advantage of the relaxation and peaceful location The Wrens Nest offers. Two delightful chairs are placed perfectly next to the dining-area to sit and unwind after a day exploring the lakes. A small shower-room with rain head shower completes this gorgeous hideaway.

The outside space is no less impressive, set on the site of an old sculpture park, hidden sculptures are still visible. Sit at the outdoor table and chairs which perch neatly on the raised decking area cleverly fashioned from reclaimed branches from the surrounding woods and take in the tranquil views of the large pond and verdant woodland. With an enclosed dog excercise area, there is plenty of space for your four-legged friend to roam too! It is only a couple of minutes' walk to the river through the field. Bordered by large overhanging trees dappling the sunlight onto the gently running water it is a great place for a relaxing picnic.

The jewel in the crown of your stay at The Wrens Nest is the eco wood-fired hot tub and fire-pit situated on the small private island accessed by a hand-made wooden bridge with twinkling fairy lights - this is a haven you can enjoy at any time of day or evening. The owner generously provides all the logs you need.

You will find nature all around and during your stay you may see kingfishers, buzzards, kestrels and nuthatch. If you are quiet deer, squirrels, badgers and foxes may just pop by, there has even been an otter or two making a watery appearance.

The Wrens Nest is nestled in a pretty area of woodland next to [Tawny Owl Treehouse (5158)]( https://www.classic.co.uk/holiday-cottage/desc-5158.html "Tawny Owl Treehouse"), however each retreat has plenty of privacy.

Miss Salter

This lovely little cottage was the perfect place to stay for my partner's birthday. Situated behind a working farm, you'd never know other people were around as the cottage is so private and looks out over a pond full of reeds. The bonus of the wood fired hot tub made our evening, and although it took 4 hours to heat up, once warm it was delightful to sit in and stargaze! The cottage is small, but perfect for two of you, the bed was comfy and the silence overnight was bliss coming from London. Would absolutely recommend again - wish we had had a bit more time to spend there.

Mrs agnew-hall

Absolutely stunning area, we wanted to get away from our busy lives and the wrens hut allowed is to chill out, relax, unwind and enjoy the scenery. Everything we needed and more was supplied , easy booking process, accurate directions, clean and beautifully decorated. A very pleasant weekend away

Miss Scrimgeour

We had such a lovely stay, we wish we’d booked for longer. The hut had everything needed and felt very luxury. We loved the seats on the terrace. The star of the show was definitely the hot tub on what felt like your own private island. I’d highly suggest getting up before sunrise for the dawn chorus of birds!

Ms Lynch

Our stay exceeded our expectations. We had such a romantic time in this unique property. If you are looking for a romantic getaway then this is it! You will be blown away by the magical setting of the hot tub and we would definitely come back to experience it in Winter. So remote-feeling yet with all you need (we didn't even turn on the TV)

Mrs Carter

Had a lovely relaxing time. Perfect peace. Hot tub an added bonus. Had everything you needed. Not too far from pub serving nice food and about an hours drive into the lakes. Very quirky and secluded. Loved it.

mrs marron

Very relaxed, calm and comfortable few days tucked away in The Nest…perfect break x

Miss Roberts

If you are looking for a place to completely switch off and immerse yourself in a peaceful and beautiful pocket of nature - Wren’s nest is a great choice! A really precious place with some very chirpy neighbours and a great base for exploring some of the lakes. The hot tub on its little island is magical, the perfect ending to a day of walking for those achy fell legs and the cabin has all you need for a comfortable, distraction free stay.
LOVED my stay here - just the medicine my busy, broken heart needed!

Mr O'Sullivan

Wren's nest was in a beautiful setting. With lovely walk's nearby. Easy access to some stunning locations.

Miss Barlow

Lovely cabin, great location and the hot tub on the island is perfect. It had everything you needed for a getaway and slept like a log. Highly recomend and would come back again.

Mrs Booth

Perfect place for a few days peace and no wifi meant no phone beeping every 2 seconds which was great. Lovely setting on the edge of a marsh, and the decking is an absolute suntrap all day. Perfect place to unplug and unwind from city life.

Miss Howell

Perfect stay, will definitely be back!

mr Cannell

What a great stay. Beautiful place to stay and all topped off with a lovely hot tub which is perfect after a long day of walking. Would definitely recommend!!

Mr Hood

Beautiful little gem tooked away for a perfect break away from the hustle and bustle.

Mrs Bridge

This place exceeded our expectations. We came for our wedding anniversary and just wanted to escape from everyone and everything. This break is enabled us to do exactly that. It’s so secluded and peaceful, nothing around you for miles, no signal or wifi was the best part about it. A little place full of lots of adventure. We loved it and have already recommended it to everyone we know! We will 100% return!

Mrs Cree

What a wonderful stay we had. It’s so peaceful. The shepherd hut is beautifully decorated and the shower is amazing!
I will be recommending to all my friends & family.

Miss Hodgson

Perfect weekend from start to finish! It had everything we needed, fab cooking facilities, such a comfy bed, amazing hot tub to listen to the wildlife and watch the stars. We have had a lot of staycations, but this has been our favourite!

Miss Brown

Stunning location stunning property absolutely fabulous ??

mr Weller

All the above was perfect. The location as we asked for the edge of the Lakes was very misleading . we spent alot of money trying to get to various lakes. The Hot tub also had a leak of which meant we were continually filling with water and spending money of Logs to keep warm

I would like someone to come back to us on the location. We liked the site and venue , but was over shadowed

Dr Hocking

Website is great, everything is laid out clearly and easy to use. Will definitely be using again!

Mr Sines

If you’re thinking about finding somewhere quiet, tranquil, homely and cosy this is the place to be. We absolutely loved it and didn’t want to leave. Waking up in the morning to hear the birds and the stream in the distance was just perfect. My fiancé and I both had emotional moments while staying here, where we just felt so happy and content that it brought tears to our eyes. We have realised from staying here that we are nature people and love nothing more than to hide ourselves away somewhere away from the chaos of day to day life, and just be together in the peaceful outdoors! Thank you for an amazing stay.

Miss Clark

The most perfect and peaceful hideaway on a family farm. Lovely personal touches with fresh cows milk, wine and cookies! Perfect location for exploring the Lakes, with gorgeous views over a private field and area of water with lots of wildlife. The hot tub is situated on it's own little island a stone's throw away from the hut, perfect for gazing at the stars. It took a little while to heat on the first night, but it was all part of the outdoor experience, and once we got this going it retained its heat and only needed another few hours the next day. We even managed a dip pre-walk, then we were back in at sunset! Would definitely recommend for a romantic weekend for two! Thank you for a wonderful weekend.

Miss Hargreaves

Lovely little getaway very quiet and peaceful the owners are very helpful if you need them. The hot tub takes a bit to warm through , but lovely once it has , just be prepared for muddy feet when you get out !!

MR Fu

Wonderful well thought out country hideaway on a working farm. Perfect for escaping the city noise.
Hot shower and modern kitchenette with a comfy bed and delightful morning views and soundscapes.
The wood fired hot tub took a while to get going so if you are only staying one night, light it immediately when you arrive. Bring your boots and take a walk to the pub a few miles away taking in the surroundings and fresh air. Or stay cosy and cook a meal with all cooking facilities provided, even a complimentary bottle of wine.
