Tucked away in a rural corner of west Dorset you will find The Granary; a single-storey cottage with a shared two acre woodland and wildflower meadow to while away holiday days in. Within close proximity to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast and surrounded by wonderful countryside, you will be hard pressed to find a more idyllic location.

As soon as you step through the door of this charming cottage you will feel right at home. It is wonderfully bright and exudes calmness. The living, dining and kitchen space is open plan so you can all enjoy time together, including the family pooches. Keen cooks will be delighted with how well-equipped the kitchen is. For out-of-season breaks there is a cosy wood-burner effect electric stove, so you can curl up on the sofa and relax (perhaps with a comforting slice of Dorset apple cake?).

There are two bedrooms at The Granary; the first being a spacious room with king-size double bed and boasting an en suite bathroom. The second bedroom has twin beds, giving great flexibility for families. Completing the space is a shower-room meaning each bedroom has use of its own bath/shower-room. Being all on one level, The Granary will be well suited to guests with limited mobility but the floor does slope slightly in the hallway to the main bedroom.

Directly in front of the cottage is your west-facing private terrace, which is a glorious spot to catch some evening rays. Beyond the terrace there is a lawn and this can be made fully enclosed, so children and dogs can happily explore this area safely.

Next door to The Granary is another cottage, [The Dairy (5682)]( https://www.classic.co.uk/holiday-cottage/desc-5682.html "The Dairy"), so for groups of up to eight guests booking both properties offers a fantastic set-up. The front gardens are separated by a full post and rail fence and is supplemented by dog proof hard mesh, but rest assured there is a gate at the end that can be opened. When booking the properties individually there is a good level of privacy as there is a trellis between the two patios. When comparing the two properties, The Granary has a larger main bedroom and its own washing machine in the cottage but there isn't an outside dining-area.

A unique feature of this property is access to a two acre woodland and wildflower area (please take care as there is an open stream running through), just beyond the owners' farmhouse. Your four-legged friends will think they have landed in doggy heaven! The owners haven't forgotten their human guests though and there are a number of thoughtfully placed benches where you can sit and take in the tranquil surroundings. This area is shared with guests staying at The Dairy.

Mr Patten

The Granary exceeded our expectations, well equipped, comfortable which made for a very relaxing holiday. The wooded area for walking the dog was great.
We will be coming back to this cottage next year and would total recommend.

Mr Sharpe

The Granary was an excellent cottage. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped to a high standard.
The owners took the time to check that everything was okay. The owner's wood was absolutely delightful.
All in all it was well worth the long drive and we would highly recommend The Granary for anybody seeking a comfortable cottage in a peaceful location.

Mrs Hewett

We had a wonderful week in The Granary and our dog Honey, enjoyed the garden and her early morning and evening walks in the woods. The cottage was so well equipped and extremely comfortable and they hadnt forgotten the dogs with a jar of treats and plenty of towels for the muddy walks

Mrs Barber

The cottage and it's surroundings were absolutely stunning. The cottage was well furnished and extremely well equipped with eveything that you could think of in the kitchen. It was lovely to have a 4 slice toaster too! Sadly the small fridge with freezer compartment was a bit on the small side for a family but we did manage.
We loved listening to the birds in the morning and late evening. The garden was beautiful and we loved walking the grounds in the evening to finish off the day.
We were away from the hustle and bustle of everything which was lovely. We were only a short visit from places to visit. We would recommend Bridport, Sherbourne and Dorchester too.
We had a wonderful stay. My family stayed on the neighbouring cottage and it was lovely to have the site to ourselves but it wouldn't be a problem if someone you didn't know had the cottage next door as you had your own gardens.
The owners were extremely friendly and helpful too.
We highly recommend a stay here.

Mrs Fisher

We really enjoyed our stay in Granary Cottage. The cottage and it's equipment/furnishings were of top quality and it is well positioned for visiting all our favourite places.

Miss Ward

Great accommodation finished to a high standard. Everything required for self-catering included, it was like a home from home. The fridge was too small for a week’s worth of food but that was a minor inconvenience. The location is great for travelling to costal and inland walks. Would highly recommended and we already have plans to return.

Miss Butler

Everything about this cottage was perfect, location, easy of access, ample parking, great enclosed garden and a separate ‘wood’ which my dog loved, their own free range eggs of which 6 were in the welcome pack, along with lots more and very thoughtful dog treats and poo bags.
All the appliances looked brand new, the cleaning and decoration I think the best cottage I have
stayed in.
Location is good, within 30 minutes National Trust properties, private gardens, Lyme Regis, Beaminster great for lunch, hairdressers and dog groomers. Very quiet
Thank you for a great stay. Hopefully see you again

Mrs Howes

Absolutely loved this quiet and comfortable cottage. Made good use of the lovely garden furniture too.

Super place for the dogs with full use of the owners' 2.5 acre woodland area.

Thoroughly recommended

Mrs Hendren

A very well equipped and comfortable cottage. Lovely enclosed sunny garden which we enjoyed very much. Stunning countryside all around and the sea not too far away. Overall a fantastic stay, thank you.

Miss Harding

A very good location and comfortable and well equipped cottage.

Mr Marston
