Kumasi
A short lane leads up to Kumasi, a plantation-style detached house, with a south-facing verandah and a second terrace, housing a large teak table.
This property is very spacious with a ground floor twin bedroom, huge kitchen/diner with a kitchen island and separate, but equally large, sitting/dining-room, which gives access to the verandah and enclosed garden.
Stairs lead up to three bedrooms; one an en suite with an extremely comfortable super-king size bed and two doubles, as well as the family bathroom.
The house is airy and comfortable and has been renovated to make this a great big home-from-home. Named Kumasi by a Cornish mining engineer, William Blight, who went to work in Ghana; he built and named the house when he returned to Cornwall after his travels. There is original artwork around the property – much by G H Shepherd whose portrait is in the sitting/dining-room.

A fabulous place to stay. We felt lucky to spend a week there. Absolutely beautiful house with so much space and a lovely feel. Kitchen was really nice to cook in and had everything needed. Garden was also lovely. Close to so many places. Some we enjoyed were Mousehole, Minack Theatre, Falmouth, St Ives, lots of beaches, Porthcurno and Lizard. Folder contained great information about the house and places to visit. Would highly recommend this house.
Mrs O'Donnell
Kumasi exceeded our expectations.. the photos do not do it justice. Would not hesitate to recommend this house.
Mrs Cruxton
A lovely, spacious, well-equipped, family holiday home situated at the end of a narrow, private road. It's ideal as a base to visit the local area. St Erth station is about three miles down the road where we took the train to St Ives. Other places near to are Hayle and Marazion where the family enjoyed the sandy beaches. Excursions to the Minack theatre, and Lands End also took place. Back at the house, we spent enjoyable evenings sitting on the decking, sharing a tipple. I am disabled, so appreciated the ground floor bedroom, and the easy access to the house. The steps from the decking to the lower garden were a no, no, but there was access round the side of the house. We had a lovely week and would certainly book this house again,

Kumasi provides the ideal accommodation for a family. We were a party of 4 adults, one teenager and a five year old plus our Labrador. We can say that all enjoyed the stay. The area was very busy (mid August) and the A30 road can be a bit noisy at times when outside the house. The sun deck and garden is really pleasant. The location is ideal for getting to St Ives and Penzance (use the regular train from St Erth park and ride) and many other locations in north and south Cornwall. Buses pass by and the open top 'Lands End Coaster' is an attractive possibility. The local transport service is in fact very good. The house is blessed with lovely views from all directions.

We had a really fantastic holiday . Perfect location for a family trip. St. Erth Park and Ride is a must if you are going in to Carbis Bay or St. Ives. The house is great and accommodated six of us with ease. The Cutty Sark in Marazion was the best Sunday lunch ever. The Watermill Inn avoid like the plague. Excellent base for a family holiday #. We would definitely go back.

This was our second trip to Kumasi. It’s a lovely, comfortable home from home. Well located close to St Erth Rail Station. Close to both St Ives, Hayle beaches and Marizion. Narrow drive and tight turning circle but we got used to it as the week went on. Lovely friendly neighbours who are full of local knowledge. We will be back.
M Stalder
Comfortable and spacious cottage that is ideal for visiting attractions and beaches in that area.
Mr Main
Beautiful property- everything was spot on. Lovely spacious kitchen-diner, with lots of utensils. Really good fridge size, which is something not a lot of places have. Amazing location- 10 mins from north coast (Hayle) and 15 mins from south coast at Praa Sands- both lovely beaches. Amazon Fire stick kept us entertained when the weather wasn’t so good, as well as walking around St Ives- 15 mins away. Very tidy place with lovely neighbours who were extremely friendly, helpful and kind- especially when one of us needed urgent medical care. Loved all the original artwork too! Great outdoor areas too- the verandah out the back was used lots! Perfect for families or groups. Would highly recommend.
Mrs WILSHAW
We felt the house was so much more than was shown on the website - extremely spacious, well equipped, and filled with fascinating art and furniture.
Mrs Starling
We had a lovely stay at Kumasi, it is a comfortable, spacious, well presented cottage with everything you need in the kitchen and outside has plenty of space and is very private. The grandchilden loved the garden with plenty of space for them to run around. Great location for the coasts, train and bus. The open top bus goes past the bottom of the lane and will take you to Penzance, Land's End and more! Convenient for the supermarkets in Penzance and the St Ives park and ride train. We had great weather and made full use of both areas of decking and the lawn. The neighbours were very helpful and directed us to the best beaches. We would definitely go back.
Mr Wells
Useful 'central' location if you want to explore in every direction.
Mrs Bullock
Great location, midway between both coasts and a 10 minute walk from St Erth station. Really comfortable/homely property. We had fantastic weather so made full use of the lovely garden and decking. We will return to this property.
Ms Kinsella
We had a fantastic stay at Kumasi! It was a great base for exploring all of Cornwall and the perfect place to return to after a day of surfing, cycling, hiking, kayaking, swimming and adventuring. Waking up for breakfast on the sun-soaked terrace sets you up for the day and the living/dining room is the cosiest setting for a home-cooked dinner and games night. Thank you for the wonderful week, we can’t wait to return!
Mr Welch
Lovely large house and nice helpful neighbours but first impressions last, you as a company made a big thing about not getting in until 5 as it was having extra cleaning we were so disappointed at the lack of cleaning and to find a kitchen cupboard with a disgusting mess in it was not acceptable .Gave 3 stars but would have been 5 if it was clean
Mr Gardner
