Old Bembridge House
Tucked away on an unmade track just a few yards from the sea and Bembridge Yacht club, Old Bembridge House has all the makings of a perfect holiday idyll. Laid across three floors, this charming house has been beautifully presented offering guests superb accommodation within a stone's throw to the beach. Just a few minutes' walk up the hill takes you to the centre of Bembridge village where you will find a great selection of independent shops, cafes and local pubs. Bembridge has its own bakery, fishmonger and butcher; everything you could possibly need is on your doorstep!
Enter through the blue front door and into the stylish sitting-room with comfy sofa seating, a cosy wood-burner for those cooler days and Smart TV with Netflix provided for guests. Glass doors take you through to the open plan kitchen/dining-room where you will find an additional WC and utility cupboard, cleverly tucked away.
French doors from the dining area open to the small but perfectly formed walled patio area with outdoor sofa, this is a wonderful extension to the seating area on those balmy summer days to sit back and relax with a good book in the sunshine. The two double bedrooms are on the first floor, one of which has an en suite shower-room. There is an additional family bathroom with a bath/overhead shower on this floor. The second floor has sleeping for an additional two guests, cleverly built into the eaves, guests must be aware that the mattresses are on floor level and there is restricted head height. Old Bembridge House is charming and full of character, you will not be disappointed!

Myself, husband, daughter, 2 granddaughters plus coco the dog stayed for a week. We were all very comfortable and the girls loved the bedroom at the top of the house. Great proximity for walks to the beach and close to the village. Also central for getting out to explore.
Mrs Tootill
Beautiful cottage and great location, especially with easy access to the beach with children and a dog.
Mrs de Laubenque Gaillard
Absolutely wonderful cottage that we will most certainly book again. Perfect location for the beach and the sailing club. The most comfortable beds I have literally ever slept in! All creature comforts that we needed were there and high quality essential items were waiting for us on arrival (local eggs, milk, bread, coffee etc.). I highly recommend!
Mr Gaunt
Great, well equipped and spotless property in an excellent location
Mrs Harrison
Lovely cottage. Well thought out. Super location close to the beach.
Mrs Harley
Wonderful house, very well located for the beach and other amenities, we had a wonderful stay!
Mr Bell
Excellent property that has contemporary feel and is well kitted out every thing you need for a perfect holiday. It is in a great location for the beach that is dog friendly. All in all I would certainly recommend Old Bembridge for great place to stay on the Isle of White.
Mrs Bryant
We loved our stay, and enjoyed many walks with the dog on the beach which is on the doorstep. The house was beautifully designed and fully equipped, and the beds were very comfortable. We even found several great cafes within walking distance
Mr Rollinson
My wife and I were allocated this house at short notice after the property we had booked became uninhabitable due to flooding. Classic Cottages were very prompt to relocate us for which we were grateful. The house is in a good location and is in very good condition with comfortable and stylish accommodation over three floors. Parking at the property is poor - there is one small space which is difficult to get into and out of, and is reached by a rather poorly maintained, potholed gravel driveway which is also a local bridleway extensively used by dogwalkers etc. The accommodation is rather let down by this poor access.
Mrs Tudor
Overall this is an attractive, spacious, well equipped house in a great location for the lovely beaches, walks, High Street and a decent choice of restaurants. The fridge was not working when we arrived but the agent arranged for it to be mended through the owner and that was done within 48 hours which was pretty efficient. Be aware that the property backs onto the main road out of Bembridge and can be noisy during the morning rush hour. It's a great house to be based in while exploring the area...special mention for the house and gardens of poet Alfred Lord Tennyson in Freshwater!
Dr Thomson
A lovely house in good location.
Mr Adlington
A unique house providing a very comfortable stay. Best nights' sleep I have had in a holiday cottage! Short stroll to pebble beach with views across the Solent.
Mrs Phisatory
A really fantastic property, beautifully fitted out to a very high standard. Kids LOVED the loft room!! The welcome pack was a great and much appreciated. Location is fabulous - so close to the beach and shops/restaurants/pubs in Bembridge Village. A problem with the showers was dealt with very quickly and efficiently. We had a wonderful stay at Old Bembridge House and will definitely be back!
Mrs Dexter
Lovely house in a great location as we love everything about Bembridge. A short walk along the lane beside the house takes you through a wooded walk to the nearby beach or branch off towards the village to pick up supplies. The outside space whilst small, is perfect on a sunny day especially with the doors open from the dining room. Fab welcome basket on arrival with chocolate, fresh bread and eggs thank you, we would stay again.
Mrs Buswell
Lovely spot, close to the beach-which has very different feel at high and low tides, good downstairs space, enough for 3 teenagers. Nice airy feel. Great find.
Mrs Daniels
Lovely week had by all and the dog in Bembridge. Nice, well equipped cottage, very close to the sea. Friendly, pretty area.
Mrs Ball
Spend a pleasant week with the grandchildren. Location perfect for either of the nearby beaches. Parking is very tricky if you have more than one vehicle at this property as it is up a private lane. That said we would definitely return
Mrs Richards
What an absolute gem. Stunningly kitted out and fantastic location. 2 minutes walk to beautiful Bembridge beach and 10 minutes to the village itself. Outdoor seating area was really lovely and a real sun trap but because we were so close we used the beach as our back garden. So many wonderful eating places either within walking distance or a short drive. This really is a fabulous place to stay and we couldn’t have asked for more. Customer service from Classic Cottages was also excellent throughout our stay- we had a minor issue with the patio door which was fixed very quickly.
Mr Turpin
Overall very good, if rather expensive. Would stay again.
Mrs Ashdown
The location was fabulous quality and the quality of furnishings was excellent. The welcome package was generous as was supplying kitchen rolls, toilet rolls, dishwasher tablets washing liquid and washing up liquid. Although we had a problem with the fridge this was sorted the same day as it was reported to classic cottages.. well done. Very poor overhead lighting and no lamps although we understand these are on order. It made it impossible to read in bed at night or to play board games. The parking was difficult to access. We were taken aback when a man walked directly passed the kitchen window… we hadn’t realised it was a passage way.. thank goodness we were fully dressed. There is a need for smaller items of crockery and glasses. I think this is possibly a new rental and at the moment things just need a little tweak to make it a superb destination. Although given a 4 star rating, small tweaks would easily make it a 5 star
Mrs Oshea
A quiet comfortable cottage with great facilities . We had a very relaxing week .
