Penpont
Penpont is a truly beautiful house serving up the perfect blend of an idyllic tucked away location, yet within walking distance of the South West Coast Path and the enchanting Pont Creek, along with easy access to the sheltered bays and coastal villages along the south Cornish coast. This stunning country home has plenty to offer. Pared back, elegant interiors with accent pieces that perfectly complement original features to create a calm and welcoming home, and relaxed outdoor spaces in the sunny south facing garden with views across the wooded valley towards the tower of Lanteglos Church. Let the calm of the setting work its magic as you take life at a gentler pace, listening to the birds sing their songs, watching the wildlife who regularly visit the garden, gazing at the wide open skies overhead or simply cosied up together in front of the wood-burning stove as your day draws to a close. The wood-burner is accessed from both the sitting/dining-room and the snug, meaning that both rooms are as cosy as can be.
The holiday cooks can unleash their inner Mary Berry when preparing their culinary delights on the warming Aga in the country style kitchen/breakfast-room, which is the perfect place for enjoying informal meals and holiday snacks. When more formal dining calls, start with aperitifs served up from the cocktail cabinet in the snug before making your way through into the capacious sitting/dining-room where the dining-table takes pride of place in front of the French windows, that lead out to the covered patio and garden.
The calming interiors continue in the bedrooms and they all enjoy wonderful views over the gardens and wooded valleys. You are assured a peaceful night's sleep to set you up for whatever the following day has in store for you.
The garden is a delight, a wildlife paradise, set on a slope with paths meandering through wildflower areas and a little orchard. You can relax in the terrace, soaking up the sun from sunrise to sunset, or grab some quiet time in the shade with a good book.

Mr Fassnidge
We had a lovely stay in a wonderful cottage, the property is stylish and beautiful and set in a stunning location. A great base for exploring a fabulous part of Cornwall in Fowey and all the surrounding beaches, countryside and attractions. Highly recommended!
Ms Booton
Had a wonderful family holiday and loved the property and spacious surroundings.
Mrs Wilson
Penpont is a beautiful cottage in a stunning location with great access to the coast path and the Fowey estuary. The cottage is really well equipped with a lovely kitchen and a great garden. There was loads of space for a family of 6 and a dog. Just be aware that the parking is a little tight and tricky if you have a big car.
Mrs de Marco
This is a lovely light, comfortable, well equipped place to stay with country views and local footpaths. The area is charming with some lovely villages and Fowey is a short ferry ride away- or a longer trip by car inland. It is a good place to visit for seafood cafés and there is a new Italian coffee shop near the carpark. Lovely big beach which the dog enjoyed too. Heligan also allows dogs and when we went in May the azaleas and rhododendrons were glorious. We would all want to stay in Penpont again and the ones who couldn’t come with us were cross they missed it!
Mrs Wakeling
Penpont is in a lovely location which is generally quiet and peaceful. The garden is enchanting with several spots to sit to catch the sun throughout the day. The house is generously equipped to a high standard and the local beaches are lovely. My criticism would be that the house was in need of a good clean by the time we visited, nearer the end of the summer season. The basics had been done, the kitchen and surfaces were clean but the carpets and rugs were very grubby and there were plenty of cobwebs and dead flies on windowsills which had clearly not just appeared. This is overall a minor issue but would be easily rectified by PURE, the management company who manage the property. Having said this I would still recommend this property as it is a lovely house which has been thoughtfully equipped for the holiday maker.
