Reviews

Set in the grounds of an old orchard and located near the mouth of the Helford River is the delightful Bramley Cottage. Found in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (now known as National Landscapes) and on the edge of the pretty village of Mawnan Smith this really is a picturesque location.

The sloped deck leads up to the raised decked area and your front door, step up through the threshold to your wonderful holiday home. The open plan living space is the perfect spot to spend some time together; the kitchen and dining areas have everything you might need for a tasty home-cooked meal made with local produce while you catch up with one another.

Cosy up together in front of a good film and warm your toes in front of the electric wood-burner or perhaps on a summer's eve leave the door open and listen to the evening chorus.

The main bedroom is decorated with calming tones and looks out over the fields, which is such a relaxing view. The second bedroom has bunk-beds which are only suitable for children. The well-appointed luxury family bathroom has a large bath and separate shower to soak your weary limbs and salt kissed hair.

There is plenty of outside space at Bramley Cottage; the raised decked area is a delightful spot to sit back and appreciate the surroundings with a refreshing drink. There is a children's play area with a swing set shared by Orchard Cottage (4883), the neighbouring cottage, or perhaps plan a teddy bears picnic in the field which you also have use of.

Good or bad, we publish all the reviews left by the guests who have stayed at this property.

Mrs Nelson

A lovely comfortable, cosy cottage. The cream tea left for us on arrival was lovely, and it was nice to meet Lorna when she popped round to see if everything was OK for us. Bramley cottage is well situated for visiting various places in the west of Cornwall & we wouldn't hesitate in recommending a stay at Bramley cottage.

Mrs Shakeshaft

We had a wonderful stay in Bramley Cottage! Everything was provided for and the surrounding area is great for walks. Maenporth beach is a lovely 30 minute walk away through fields, woodland etc. The coastal path walks to Falmouth and towards Trebah Gardens were beautiful. We would definitely recommend this cottage for it's location and comfort. The owner was very pleasant and helpful too!

Ms Crow

A lovely property that is clearly well looked after. The garden was great for our dog and kids who loved the swings and hammock. Fabulous walks straight out from the property. I’d recommend the cottage to anyone visiting the area.

Dr. Mueller-Prothmann

Lovely cottage. Enough space for a family of four. We had a wonderful time at Bramley Cottage. Would definitely recommend.

Mrs Hunt

Lovely cottage and surroundings, comfortable and well equipped, a real home from home

Miss Ellis

We were a party of 2 adults and 1 child. The property was easy to find. The cottage was lovely, peaceful, very clean and it was really kind to have basic provisions such as loo roll, dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll etc provided. The cream tea on arrival was delicious and the owner Lorna checked everything was ok with our stay while we were there. Blackout curtains/blinds would be useful as it becomes bright in the bedrooms in the early mornings. Overall a really enjoyable stay and a great location to stay in!

Mrs Allen

Bramley Cottage is in a quiet and peaceful setting and was enjoyable. Good location to visit many areas of Cornwall. We'd read many reviews about a cream tea on arrival, but don't get too excited - our tray provided milk and teabags and empty plates! Shame after a long day of driving. Take your own condiments too as none provided.

Mr Hendy

Cottage very comfortable, clean and very well equipped. Ideally situated for walks both coast and country.

Mrs Powell

Bramley cottage was a great place to stay, had everything we needed, very well looked after, fabulous position, great views, and good roads to get to it. It was just like the photo on the web site. Perfect thank you

Mrs Hurley

We had a really enjoyable stay in Bramley Cottage. It was just as described, clean, well equipped and very comfortable. The owner Lorna had left a delicious cream tea for our arrival and she was available if needed. It is set in a quiet location with a lovely garden adjoining the field which is for your enjoyment too. It is just a mile from the coast and the beautiful Helford river. We would like to return one day and would definitely recommend for a couple or a young family.

Ms Lambourne

Bramley grew on us. For a couple the accommodation and equipment is ample and all in working order, and there is plenty of heating to ensure cosy evenings should the weather close in. The location for us was ideal for walking to Maenporth beach and driving to Helford Passage and Falmouth. Traffic on the adjacent road can pass the entrance very quickly but we took extra care each time and it was not a problem. (There is plenty of space to exercise dogs and children away from the entrance.)

Mr Carling

A pleasant, well designed, warm and very clean cottage in a quiet but not remote location. Well equipped with a very helpful owner. Large adjoining garden area with easy access to walks. Good for couples or a family with young children.

Mrs Relph

The cottage is very quaint and well located to commute anywhere in Cornwall. You need a car as public transport is extremely limited from the area. The cottage is well equipped and has everything you need it’s really home from home.

Mrs Ross

This cottage was ideally situated for travelling around Cornwall seeing various tourist attractions. It was like home from home, very comfortable, but you needed a car to access the local area.

Mrs May

We booked Bramley Cottage for the us as a couple. The size of the property was just right for us as we were able to keep our suitcase in the small bedroom which worked well. There are a couple of footpaths very close to the property so we were able to walk across fields to take a coastal path walk, which we enjoyed. The village centre is not far but the I would not walk along the road to the village as there is no path and traffic moves quickly along this road. A large ASDA is situated a couple of miles away and was convenient for food supplies. The weather was so good that we enjoyed having breakfast and dinner on the private terrace which was very peaceful. We would certainly stay here again.

Mrs Humphry

Lovely area and lovely walks. Within easy reach of many things. Would recommend St Michaels Mount.
